The name speaks for itself. Before us is a car mechanic simulator according to the version of the Polish development team from Red Dot Games. Such a specific, but at the same time, idea for a game that had been floating around for a long time was once again implemented on a completely serious basis. And implemented with dignity, albeit far from perfect.
If you have decided to buy your first car in the near future, but have a very vague idea of its structure and the vicissitudes of its operation, then you probably think that this game will help you better prepare for such a significant event. And partly this is true, but only partly.
What is required from such a game?? It is obvious that attention to detail and meticulous attitude towards various components and assemblies of the car. After all, the point is to burrow deeper into the bowels of the iron horse, replace something there, unscrew it, or vice versa — screw it in, simultaneously studying the internal structure and learning to diagnose problems.
You will have to turn the bolts a lot and often
And indeed, we will be allowed to dig deeper into the car’s suspension, engine, exhaust system and perform such routine operations as replacing filters, spark plugs, oil and much more. The order description will often contain specific life situations in which the fault will need to be found and eliminated. And this is a definite plus.

Moreover, unlike real life, we do this not in a cold, dirty garage, swearing and swearing every minute, but at home, sitting comfortably in front of our PC screen (however, no one forbids swearing in this case). Hints will come to our aid. By diagnosing certain components or performing a manual inspection, it will be possible to “highlight” the condition of the parts. The green ones, as usual, are fine, the yellow ones are worn out, but still in working order, but the red ones are no longer suitable and require urgent replacement. It is also possible to make the body transparent so that it does not interfere with the inspection of the mechanisms.

To prevent the player from getting bored, the authors even prepared some semblance of a plot. The fact is that we are not given dry briefings, but orders from clients. Entire stories can unfold there. Here’s a long epic with a car bought by a caring husband for his eccentric wife. Here is a young man who has scraped together some money for some kind of jalopy and is asking to do something with it so that it will appear before his parents at least in working condition. But someone complains about banal theft. It feels like we are working with real people. And although we don’t see them, their vehicles are remembered no worse than their faces. Add here all sorts of authentic little details in the design of the workshop, various devices such as lifts and diagnostic stands and you will get, dare I say it, a real atmosphere inherent in the so-called games with “soul”.
The test circuit, where you can drive, also adds some variety. Each car model has its own characteristics that affect the behavior of the car. Moreover, although the brands and models are fictitious, it is not difficult to recognize their real analogues. There is also a simple economic system. For orders we are paid money, which we are free to spend on new (and not so good) spare parts, as well as on… upgrading our skills!

Don’t flatter yourself, pumping is present here purely nominally. Total 4 parameters. A couple of obvious “money” skills, in the form of discounts on spare parts and greater profits from orders. Increasing the speed of unscrewing and screwing bolts (still, even at the maximum level, it will be slow and annoying). And displaying the status of random parts (10 at the maximum level, as the game promises, but in reality there are fewer of them), without diagnostics and inspections. Which is a little less than completely useless. However, the same can be said about other “skills”.
I wouldn’t be me if I hadn’t tried to “become a bully”. In fact, it would be boring to do everything just the right way. It was necessary to “test the game for strength”. In the end, an auto mechanic is responsible for the condition of the car entrusted to him, and this means power and opportunities, and what!
Unfortunately, they won’t let us remove any “excess” and not tighten the nuts. It is almost useless to sell used spare parts. If we are asked to replace something, then only with high-quality ones. Even if everything else is about to fall apart. The used market is generally almost useless, because the condition of the purchased part is not shown to us and the chance that a “green” one will appear is not so great. Lottery. The game puts pressure on our integrity, however, for that kind of money you can be an honest mechanic.

But there is a way out here too. For example, they ask us to replace the brake pads. We go to the online store and order new ones. Then we complete the order as expected. On the good side, pads that are almost completely worn out are useless for anything and can only be sold for a symbolic amount (and this can only be done in the game). But don’t despair, because we still have clients! Some guy comes to us in an expensive car and asks us to look at the suspension. No problem, buddy! Here’s a repaired suspension and a set of worn-out pads to boot! And I will take your new, almost unused ones for future clients, or sell them for a quite normal price. Moreover, you can change spare parts for completely non-working ones, and even those without which the car in principle will not start — the client will not be offended, as long as his order is completed. I arrived in a brand new car for an oil change — they took the clunker away on a tow truck and everyone was happy! In this way, you can decide destinies, because it’s not difficult to imagine what will happen to a young racer whose brakes and steering do not work properly, or vice versa, to selflessly help some hard worker.
