Schedule SGTV-LIVE: MOAR original streams

September 23 (Friday) at 17:00 Yaroslav Shalashov, as you asked, will plunge into the console Driver: San Francisco. Remember those days when we played the first part? Garage, trying to turn the car around correctly and everything else. So we remember, and therefore we will definitely compare what Driver was and what Driver has become.

September 23 (Friday) at 19:00. Once again Yaroslav Shalashov will show the PS3-exclusive Resistance. This first-person action game boasts great video trailers, but how good is the gameplay?? Will the game be so fun that we’ll want to make a walkthrough of it?? More on all this on Friday.

September 24 (Saturday) at 20:00. Akashiro and Bazuzu, faithful to co-op games, will broadcast Gears of War 1. Last week they dragged Borderlands, can they not drop the quality bar?? Well, as before, the authors will play one of the games live. This time it will be possible to get Disciples 3: Hordes of the Undead.

September 25 (Sunday) at 21:00. Kirill Oreshkin and Yaroslav Shalashov will once again burst into the world of The Seventh Element to show you what’s new there. During the broadcast there will be a lot of PvP and prize drawings.

WHAT’S IN OUR PLANS?

Vampire: The Masquerade — Bloodlines will. We figured out how to make it really cool.

I have an idea https://woohoo9casino.co.uk/ to show Deus Ex 3. Not a walkthrough, but an analysis of several levels. We’ll show you the locations, how you can complete levels in different ways, etc.

"Pestilence. Utopia"It will be, we decide when and how.

Now, in addition to the schedule itself, you will find here links to the latest posts. Opinions about broadcasts from different, yet mysterious, characters. Interesting facts about LIVE — in particular, we will give an answer to why it “lags, although I have 10 megabits”!111".

Link to latest broadcast recordings. Everything is here.

Here is the promised story — briefly about why speed is not an indicator of communication quality. Why does it slow down, buffer and not open with a hundred megabits??

“Measurements” are firmly established in our minds. Some we easily understand — engine power, hotel star, calories, commendable, garbage, waste… For some reason, however, processors are compared by their cores, and video cards by the amount of RAM, although the performance of a processor depends on its architecture, cache size, frequency and the influence of the planet Nibiru, a video card is a chip at heart, and only then memory. The misconception about speed is also rooted in ignorance 😉

Imagine the Internet in the form of a huge number of dots connected by lines: each dot is a person connected to the network (and this is very rough, but there are millions of people on the Internet and the dots don’t peck either).

Let’s take just three points — provider, StopGame.ru and Live broadcasting service.
Provider — beyond the Urals, StopGame.ru —

in Germany, Live broadcast in Holland. In the beautiful Trans-Ural city of X, Viktor Petrovich wants to watch the broadcast, its speed is 100 Mbit/s… the broadcast is only 3 Mbit/s, but the broadcast does not go on — it buffers, slows down, and breaks down. It seems that it should be suitable — 100 is more than 3?!

We always think about speed — the marketing departments of providers taught us this. What we don’t think about at all is the quality of the route to the point we need. The speed in city X can really be 100 Mbps, but the path to Holland through myriads of points can turn out to be extremely shitty (highways, routers, switches, other network equipment, which, I confess, I’m not very versed in). And the main enemy here is distance. The further the source and consumer are from each other, the more time it takes for the signal to reach the destination. The more intermediate points there are between the source and the consumer, and each creates additional delays. It’s good if they all work fine, but we live in Russia (for the most part) and talking about the quality of the Internet… you already know everything 😉

A very rude answer to the question “why are there lags??“sounds like this: you are either very far from the source of the signal, and on the way to it something is very wrong, or on the way everything is so wrong that even proximity to the source does not help you. One might even note that “speed” as such does not exist as a fixed quantity. This is a set of factors: line quality, connection type, health of the provider’s internal network, health of highways, health of the guard, age and load of equipment. After all, if the network infrastructure is an old piece of G, then in the evening, when everyone comes home from work… well, you understand, yes?

Friends, many often ask us and even demand: “Talk more about yourself, about your life, about what you do!». Sometimes we do this. But not more often than sometimes. And we hope that most of our broadcasts will always be not about us, but about games. The fact is that we don’t think we have any amazing skills, we don’t have incredible life experiences, and our mental and creative abilities don’t qualify as genius. We are simply journalists, that is, those who convey information about phenomena and events. We broadcast games, not ourselves. And that’s important. If a journalist pays more attention to himself, then this is bad and unprofessional.
In addition, the broadcasts are watched not only by those who know us well, but also by many who have no idea who the Kirill Oreshkins and Yaroslav Shalashovs are. And for them our stories about ourselves will look wild. And we try to work for the widest possible audience.
And that’s why we always say that you should be added to VKontakte, Twitter and blogs. Because there we allow ourselves to talk about anything. Those who want to read, and those who are not interested do not have to do so. But at StopGame we are first and foremost site employees. His face.

I’ll start from afar. As you know, our site lives on banner advertising. We don’t ask you for money, we don’t sell premium accounts, we don’t demand so many rubles for watching this or that video. And therefore it is very important for us that the site is visited by as many people as possible. Otherwise they won’t buy banners from us.
A very important role is played by which page users visit most often, what exactly they look at. If there are a lot of people who watch video reviews, then a larger budget is allocated for their creation. Accordingly, more videos appear on the site per month. Remember, there was a section “Hadron Computer”? It disappeared not because the author talked about everything from the world of hardware. There were just few views, the response was weak, I had to close it.
And now we come to the streams. Live broadcasts are the youngest direction on the site. And our task is to make sure that as many viewers as possible come to the broadcasts. If this doesn’t happen, there won’t be any streams at all. They will simply have their budget cut and there will be no blog streams on the main page or broadcasts from eSports events. And regular streams will simply disappear.
World of Tanks is the most popular online game in Russia. She has a huge community. And we began to interact with him, we began to attract people “from the tanks” to streams on StopGame. And broadcasts on WoT are record-breaking. No other streams are watched by so many people. Let me emphasize: no others. That’s why we make them.
And now the most important thing. World of Tanks broadcasts never affected the total number of broadcasts for other games. We have a limit of 8 streams per month (sometimes 6, again, it all depends on the budget). If we have broadcasts on WoT, if we don’t have them, there will still be 8 streams on other games. Exactly how and if we manage to broadcast on Point Blank, “The Seventh Element” and other MMOs, where we agree with the publisher to advertise our broadcast.
We understand very well that part of the SG community does not play World of Tanks. We don’t force her to watch these broadcasts. Moreover, we have never removed the alternative. There are always other broadcasts. There are always more of them. There are always as many of them as there have been since the first months of the appearance of SGTV LIVE.
I hope this topic is settled. We meet our quota for the number of streams. We are meeting the needs of users, you wanted Fahrenheit — we made it. You wanted nostalgic broadcasts — they were there all last month and partially continue in August. Yes, SGTV LIVE still has room to develop, a lot still needs to be done. But if we don’t have an audience, if we can’t show good results, then there won’t be SGTV LIVE at all.
We could skip this conversation altogether and just do what we want. But I don’t like it. And so does our entire team. We are used to talking to you and try to listen to what you say. Try to listen too.
